Here is step by step instructions if you live somewhere else: (if you are already in Finland, go to step #2)
1. Move to Finland from an another country.
2. Locate a KELA-office near you.
3. Apply for a KELA-card and get in the wellfare system by filling out form Y77.
Compared to i.e. American Express, Diners Club, VISA or Mastercard, the KELA-card has several advantages:
4. Open a Finnish bank account in any bank in order to get free money.
5. Fill out rest of the forms that KELA gives you.
6. Wait.
7. While waiting, go to an unemployment-office and sign up. Do NOT get a mobile phone, ohterwise companies will be able to call you and offer you a job.
8. Next go to a wellfare-office. The unemployment-office signup at step #7 is required for the wellfare office. Meanwhile you are waiting for your money at step #6 you will get the same amount of money instantly in step #8 (this step).
Now when you have completed all these steps, you will be able to spend your time on anything of interest.
